Meet the Founder
Hello! I'm Evan Green, a 3rd year English - Creative Writing Major and Screenwriting & Digital Storytelling Minor. This semester, I was tasked with creating a literary journal for my Intro to Literary Editing and Publishing class. I immediately knew what I had to do. As someone who has always sought out literature from diverse writers, it's often difficult to find on your own. That's where Verity comes in— to publish literature by and for BIPOC, 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, Women, and other marginalized groups. No longer will we be forced into the shadows of society. Join the magic today!
Mission Statement
Established in 2024 at Ohio University, Verity is an undergraduate literary journal dedicated to conjuring a space for diverse writers to share their truths with the world. Our mission is to publish poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction that explores the complex identities and lived experiences of those forced into the shadows of society. Our coven of storytellers is open to BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, Women, and all other marginalized peoples. We are committed to maintaining respect and accessibility for both our readers and writers. If Verity can make reading, submitting, or enjoying our journal easier for you, please do not hesitate to let us know.
